A place to talk with the people you trust
Kinfire is chat, voice and shared spaces for your groups, built so that nobody else can read along. Not us, not anyone.
Free. No account needed.
Everything your group needs
Servers for your groups
Channels, roles and invites for your friends, family, team or club. Only people you invite get in.
Chat the way you're used to
Replies, threads, reactions, polls, voice messages, custom emotes, GIFs and code blocks.
Voice, video and screen sharing
Drop into a voice channel, turn on your camera, or share your screen in up to 1080p at 60 fps.
Send files of any size
Files go straight from person to person, with every piece checked. No upload limit, no cloud copy.
Boards and shared notes
Plan on a shared board and write notes together. Notes can sync with a folder on your PC for Obsidian.
In your browser or on your desktop
Use it right in the browser, or get the app for Windows, macOS and Linux.
Private by design
Privacy isn't a setting in Kinfire. It's how it works: you hold the keys, and the server in the middle only ever sees locked boxes.
No account, no password
Your identity is a key made on your device. There's no sign-up, no phone number and no email.
Encrypted end to end
Messages in DMs and servers use MLS, the IETF standard for group encryption. Only the people in the chat can read them.
A relay that can't read along
Our server only introduces devices and passes along encrypted messages it can't open. Your history lives with you.
Honest about the limits
Calls and file transfers go directly between people, so they can see each other's IP address. Kinfire tells you when, and a VPN hides it.
Pull up a chair
Make your identity in a few seconds, then invite the people you want around the fire.
